Dear, Mr. Burger
On behalf of the men and women of the United States Air Force, Please accept my thanks and gratitude for your years of volunteer service as a member of our Public Affairs Advisory Group In New York City. For 15 years, your highly valued guidance helped advance our national security by strengthening public support for vital Air Force programs, strategies, and missions.
Specifically, your informal leadership of the advisory group, to include recruitment of some of New York City’s brightest public relations minds, brought unparalleled advice and counsel directly to Air Force Secretaries Sheila Widnall and James Roche, five chiefs of staff, and numerous flag officers and public affairs leaders. Through your assistance, we have established lasting relationships with leading New York City opinion leaders and organizations and national print and broadcast news agencies – relationships which continue to foster influential support for Air Force and defense priorities.
I salute you as a lead figure in shaping the global broadcast news and public relations professions, as a volunteer advisor to our national intelligence agencies , and as a former world war II Airman. The channeling of these experiences – of your extraordinary communication knowledge and skills – significantly improved our Air Force and contributited to our Nation’s defense. We thank you for your selfless, patriotic service to your country and the United States Air Force.
Sincerely
NORTON A. SCHWARTZ
General, USAF
Chief of Staff
